TEEN TREATMENT PROGRAMS

Home Plan

We make every effort to address the adolescent's needs at home before considering an Away Plan such as Wilderness Treatment. We often employ many of the options listed under "Treatment" to ensure that your teen and family receive the support they need to move forward.

If the adolescent is unable or unwilling to benefit from the support network implemented in the Home Plan, or is behaving in ways that are dangerous to him/herself or to others, then we will suggest implementing an Away Plan.

Away Plan

When the comprehensive assessment is complete, it sometimes becomes clear that the adolescent would benefit from spending a period of time in a new academic and social environment or a residential treatment program.

In these instances, we educate the parents about the spectrum of available residential schools and programs, guide the family to the appropriate level of care, and recommend several excellent programs based on personal experience.

There are literally hundreds of programs, ranging from high to low quality, meeting a range of academic needs and levels of emotional care.

Here is a broad overview of the spectrum of treatment options; if you contact us, we would be pleased to answer any questions you may have.

Aftercare Plan

We are committed to helping families develop Aftercare Plans for the teen returning home from another setting such as residential care. Top quality programs open the adolescent to extraordinary growth and change. Therefore, the transition back to home life can be challenging for the entire family. We work with the family while the teen is away so that everyone can transition more easily when they are reunited.
